the blue whale

The tummynauts in the tummy mountain space agency (TuMS) have been hard at work thinking outside of the box.
One could make a fair claim that they never really think inside the box but we won't get distracted by that.
Many attempts have been made by our tummynauts to get into deep space, or at least higher than the neighbour's apple tree, by using very long ladders.
They have abandoned the ladders in favour of a new method.
Having learnt that the blue whale is the largest mammal on earth they have decide to ask one to stand up and reach for the stars. Maybe they intend to hitch a ride.
Surely a blue whale would be big enough to reach into space?

I'm sure that a Blue Whale will reach the stars - if he can't, then who could? If he can't quite stretch that far, perhaps he could borrow one of the long ladders, just to give him a little boost?
The Tummynauts are very clever to think of this idea.

That is an outstanding idea! A blue whale with a ladder! There will be nothing they can't do.

I have a sudden and new-found admiration for Blue Whales.

I now have a mental image of a blue whale holding a ladder at the top of which another blue whale stretches out to reach for a star...

I like this mental image :)

By the way, I saw a manatee last week, and it made me think of you! (In a good way, that is. Not in a 'you look like a manatee' way.)
