How lovely of you to give us the chance to meet them too :) The only birds that tend to meet us locally are pigeons and magpies, which have a very different kind of beauty and personality...
Are the squawkies really so friendly in the wild? The only Cockatoos we have here are pets in cages. We can go to a local park where chickadees will land in our hands if we offer sunflower seeds. I have been wanting to take my borrowed little one to meet them. :)
Hi Humel and Martha,The magpies around here have a very protective and aggressive personality in the springtime - often swooping on people's heads. These squawkies have so much individual personality. They are generally cheeky. There is one that likes to ride around in a wooden bowl, a few that tear all the potted plants apart, nervous ones, couples, the wise men (who are in the video)and another that struts up and down like Lord Nelson inspecting the troops. They are cheeky and friendly, unafraid of us, but can occasionally decide that your fingers may be a tasty snack and have a wee nip.I looked up the chickadees and they look very cute and round - just the right type of bird for tummy mountain.
