diplomacy

Wee Small, shall we say, has a more boisterous and exuberant, even rowdier temperament, than The Little One. And occasionally friction occurs.

The Little One, being the eldest, has recourse to more means of diplomacy than Wee Small. So when the need arises she can take steps to avoid possible confrontations of an unsavoury nature.

Thus this sign I found this morning that The Little One has written for Wee Small.

manatee, the co-accused

It is a pity that Wee Small cannot read.

self control

This week the little ones have been playing with their toy fairies. Now they are are all out and hiding in the garden. Wee Tiny has such an earnest expression on her face when she tells me the beautiful name of her fairy.

"Her name is Daisy Flower Turkey"

It is all I can do not to laugh.

the cat

One morning I was sitting on the front steps in the sunshine enjoying a hot cup of tea when Wee Tiny wandered up to me to tell me her important news.

"I was talking to the cat and he looks like he understands me." said Wee Tiny

"Does he." I replied "What did you say to him?"

"What did you say?" asked Wee Tiny.

"I said 'what did you say to him?'" I repeated

"Say to who?" wondered Wee Tiny.

"The cat."

"I said he was a very nice cat and he looks like he understands me."

Understanding of Responsibilities.

We all went on a picnic. The little ones had a lot of fun playing all day in the forest. What a beautiful peaceful place. As the sun went down I called to the little ones and asked them to gather up their shoes.

"I can't get my shoes!" exclaimed Wee Small as though the idea was abdsurd. "They're in the tree house!"

"What tree house?" I asked.

"Well how should I know!" responded Wee Small. She looked at me as though I was crazy.

Clearly she does not need to remember such trivialities as to which tree she has left her shoes in. Obviously this is one of my duties.

I stared at the endless forest, any tree of which could be the tree house. I think the shoes may just have to stay here.

sayings of the small

Wee Tiny has a cute little way of saying " the day after tomorrow" that I just love.

It is "tomorrow but the next day."

March

The little ones love March. As Wee Tiny once told me "it is the only month named after having a parade."
