rainy days on the mountain

A rainy day on tummy mountain. I love standing with a cup of hot tea and watching the drops falling off the roof, the steady downpour obscuring the trees, and to complete the mood one could imagine a light piece of music to make this sound like a scene from a movie.

Fortunately for me the little ones are providing this music by playing every note at once on every instrument at once. Delightful! Who needs to be constrained by rhythm and melody. This is enhanced by their own version of surround sound - running through every room of the house while playing instruments as loudly as possible. A curious effect on the ears.

Ah, the blissful cacophony of a total disregard for rhythm and melody :-) I enjoy this regularly myself - The Boy on tenor horn, The Girl on flute, The Hamster on exercise wheel, The Washing Machine on constantly...

Hamster on exercise wheel! - Marvellous variation. We have cat on "scratching the couch". You know the really nice couch that you buy after years of putting up with any bit of furniture? Yes that couch. It is now all scratched and covered in the little ones food stains.

While Momma's ears don't too much mind the musical renditions of little ones, the Poppa's ears throb and pound with every sounding note.

Ain't that the truth!
